Production of Suzuki Motor Half Lives

The fate of the Suzuki motorcycle manufacturers in Indonesia differ with Honda and Yamaha. During November 2011, Suzuki had to swallow the bitter pill because of its production going to cut half of normal.

Paul Sugih Firmanto, Sales and Marketing Director of PT Indomobil Suzuki Sales (SIS), said, due to flood Thailand, some parts suppliers Suzuki impaired. If the previous production motorcycle PT Indomobil Suzuki Motor (SIM) 40000-50000 units per month, now living 20000-25000's units.

"There is a possibility of production fell to 50 percent. Almost all the models, the supply of components is compromised," Paul beber to Kompas.com, Monday (31/10/2011) night.

Current level of local content in the category Suzuki motorcycle was, only 60 percent. Meanwhile, Honda and Yamaha duo was to localize its products to 80 percent, even 90 percent. As a result, Suzuki had a fairly severe production disruption due to flooding Thailand.

However, Paul believes, sales could still be maintained because they still have enough stock units. The numbers, Paul admits that they do with the consolidation of suppliers.

With the above conditions, the plan Suzuki launches new scooter, Nex, next month, is subjected to a retreat. Because, if enforced, then the distribution unit to the dealer is uneven. As a result, some consumers who are interested of course will not get the unit in no time!
