Cool! Air-powered Motorcycle

There is a new breakthrough of Australia's Dean Benstead, a student from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) majoring in industrial design. He managed to create a moving motorcycle using high pressure air force (compressed air) that dinami "02 Pursuit". In addition to environmentally friendly, this bike offers an alternative fuel instead of gasoline.

From the display, this bike looks sleek without machine ear of the usual "perched" on the bottom of the chassis. The design is stylish SuperMoto but simpler with a single-seat and rear suspension. Use of wheel radius and tire tread width makes it looks more gahar.

Benstead ideals of making "02 Pursuit" encouraged the fond childhood experience riding mountain bikes. "The bike was created from scratch concept sketches to computer graphics. Only later formed the chassis and body, produced with the help of a local factory Rinlatech Engineering," said Benstead.

Pursuit basic ingredients taken from the 250 cc motorcycle. Gear drive picked from Yamaha WR240F engine integrated on the air (Engineair) DiPietro as a cardiac pacemaker. With this unique machine, a motorcycle can be accelerated up to 100 kph and the ability, says Benstead still be improved again as the finalization of the research that is still being worked out.

"The next prototype will completely change his style, using different materials, one of which replace the chassis of steel tubing that is used today. Maybe disposable aluminum or even titanium to make it lighter," said Benstead.

Unfortunately Benstead did not inform other records such as power, torque and air consumption per kilometer. Perhaps this information could be obtained when "02 Persuit" mejeng premiere at the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show, 25 November 2011.
